Because this group is broad, recent reviews and photos are a better guide than the category alone. Most kitchens in Detroit will adjust a dish for common dietary needs such as vegetarian or gluten-free if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: bars open late and cafes close early. Happy-hour pizza deals are common at bars across Michigan on weekday afternoons, and many casual restaurants take reservations online through third-party platforms while fast-food spots are walk-in only.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Leña at (313) 262-6082; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, lenadetroit.com.

I am so surprised this place wasn’t packed! The staff was so friendly and the food was incredible! Plus, they comped our salad appetizer. I cannot say enough great things about Leña! We ordered the pizza bread, the gem salad, and the half chicken to split between two people and it was the perfect amount of food. Will definitely be back!

We went for the Chef’s Table tasting menu tonight and it was outstanding. Every course was wonderful, with bold but balanced and fun flavors. The rarebit was so rich and comforting. The Parisian gnocchi itself was so pillowy, and serving it with the snap peas, chorizo, and ramp puree gave it such a satisfying blend of textures. The lamb was unbelievably tender with a gorgeous glaze on top, very nicely balanced by the cabbage beneath. The rice served alongside it was so good it could have been its own dish. And then there’s the dessert, which was creamy and crunchy at once, with a lovely nutty flavor that was perfectly brightened by the mint oil. Damn I wish I could eat that again. As a final note on the menu, we were absolutely stuffed when we left. The portion of lamb was particularly generous. Mike and the team make dining there fun. You can tell they love what they do, and they want everyone else to have a good time while they’re at the restaurant. Parking was easy (and plentiful) in their free lot across the street. It’s easy to find, but you can check their website for the exact address of it. The tasting menu will change over time, so you might not experience the menu I ha

This place was excellent. The flavors were unique, pure, and clean. No slop here. I really enjoyed the monkfish, tinned fish, and most of all the basque cheesecake. Would highly recommend this place !!

Went for a birthday dinner on a Wednesday evening; we sat at the bar tables connected to the open kitchen… best seat in the house. We were able to watch the chefs prepare everything and interact with them - they were so lively and personable. Our server gave some excellent recommendations for apps and entrees. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks (fiesta jardin, un fumador, Valencia G&T); then ordered 4 apps plus 2 entrees (blue crab piquillo, pintxo de txampis, brandada de bacalao, achicora, swordfish, alubias blancas). My favorite bite was the braised mushrooms with Brie and quince jam on grilled baguette. Also loved the swordfish with the amazing & tangy mojo Rojo sauce and octopus which was so tender - seasoned to perfection. And how could you not like potatoes bravos. Perfect crisp outside and pillow soft inside. Mouthwatering. Every bite from appetizer to the larger entrées were delicious. In addition to having excellent food, everyone truly made it a point to acknowledge and look after us for this special occasion. We finished the meal with a 2oz pour of sherry, cheesecake and they brought out the decadent chocolate sorbet with a little birthday candle AND a sample the delicious n

What a beautiful, uniquely, quite, perfectly hidden neighborhood restaurant! First the ambiance and the esthetics of the restaurant and the awesome helpfulness of all the staff. The music was perfect! Just at the perefct level to have any normal coversation. Though I am definitely not a fan by all means of exotic or different foods I would return for drinks staff and the ambiance. Everyone enjoyed our entire visit for Ms. Olivia's birthday and they loved their entrees. I choose the meatballs and they where delicious, the only thing where I did not give the last star was Though all entrees were set up as shareable. It would ahve been so much more better if there would have expected been able to be able to add a side of those delicious potatoes al la carte or Spanish/white rice possibly as i did not partake in any of the shareables only what I ordered which did not include a side. Other than that everthing else was top notch! ❤️
